State of the Union

Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!
Psalm 106:1

As we prepare to enter the last quarter of 2024, there is much to be thankful for. The Stewardship Team is pleased to report we are forecasting a deficit of $41k, perhaps even less if congregants respond to the updated ‘ask’ noted below.

“What’s so great about a deficit?” Funny you should ask. The forecasted 2024 deficit is less than half of what was budgeted for 2024. And while the Stewardship Team is estimating a $40k to $50k deficit for 2025, we recall Hebron faced a $150k deficit entering 2023 which prompted us to initiate a 2-year “ask” to increase giving. Much progress has been made despite being a bit slower than we had hoped. God continues to show favor, grace upon grace.

Well, money isn’t everything, and it certainly isn’t the only thing. Since we serve the Lord Jesus, whose kingdom is not of this world, we too are to “testify to the truth” (John 18:36-37). That requires spiritual formation in the context of biblical community, whereby the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit transforms our lives and character to that of Jesus’. That is what Hebron is all about.

This Fall Hebron kicked off the Adult Growth Groups which currently have 171 participants gathering for fellowship and the study of God’s Word. Kids and students are taking tangible steps in their faith as they learn how to worship, study and serve together and welcome new young people to Wednesday Night KidVenture and Youth Group. And the All Moms ministry continues to provide a venue for moms with preschoolers to gather, connect and recharge.

Please continue to prayerfully support Hebron’s ministries with your time, talent and treasure.
