The CYN fosters the planting, partnering, and networking of relational, Christ-centered youth ministry to the ends that youth can be introduced to the Gospel and grows into a mature relationship with Christ. Their goals and objectives are to: plant relational, Christ-centered, community based youth ministry on islands, partner with Caribbean organizations in order to serve them, and the networking of youth.

Barrett & Carrie, Hebron’s former Student Ministry leaders and worship pastor, are planting a church and student ministry in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas. While called to relational student ministry and church planting, they also spend quite a bit of time doing relief work, rebuilding homes, and counseling those who endured the catastrophic Hurricane Dorian in September 2019. They are also raising three children, Cortina, Paisley, and Soren on the island, while encouraging Marissa, their adult child still in Pittsburgh, from afar.

Lost and Found Pharmacy’s mission is to extend the love of Jesus Christ through offerings of quality products and services to increase the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of all.

We are committed to establishing a nonprofit pharmacy in the Penn Hills community to further the Kingdom of God and serve the community. While we have many goals for our community the heart of it will be to aid the under-served along with the rest of the community, while assuring that everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Lost and Found Pharmacy was established as a corporation on November 7, 2007. The pharmacy received its 501(c)3 nonprofit tax status in January 2009. On June 3, 2016, our vision came to fruition as we opened the doors of Lost and Found Pharmacy, Inc.

Bernadette Fischer started volunteering at PRISM with Hebron church over a decade ago. PRISM staff approached her about overseeing the weekly PRISM Connect program. This evolved into a paid staff position where she also coordinates weekly prayer time, English Conversation Group, teaches English as a Second Language, plans student events, and ministers to international students, visiting scholars, and their families.

Bernadette follows PRISM’s motto of EMBRACE, ENGAGE, EQUIP by building personal relationships with students, visiting scholars, and their families and praying for the Holy Spirit to transform their lives through the Word of God. She works in partnership with volunteers from local congregations to carry out PRISM’s mission:

PRISM exists to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Pittsburgh-area international students, visiting scholars, and their families to the end that they will be identified, befriended, led to a personal relationship with Christ and discipled for service to Christ and His kingdom.

Penn Hills Service Association has been serving people in Penn Hills and surrounding areas for over 60 years. An all-volunteer organization, we provide food, clothing, and convalescent equipment (hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) 52 weeks out of the year. We are honored to serve and proud of our longevity due to generations of dedicated volunteers.

This has been made possible in part by the generous donations from people of Hebron Church and other churches, businesses, and numerous individual donors. The Penn Hills municipal government also provides us with some Federal Community Improvement Block Grant monies. In addition to financial support, Hebron Church and other Penn Hills churches and organizations provide periodic food donations to keep our food pantry well stocked.

Our president, Rev. Bill Hauser, says our motto, “people helping people in Penn Hills,” continues to be on target.

Hebron began partnering with Serge (formally World Harvest Mission) in 2006 when they agreed to support David and Emily Shrader as missionaries to North Africa. The Shraders served in cross-cultural ministry for over a decade.  Since returning to the states, Emily continues working for Serge as a Recruiter and a Renewal Specialist and David is a Chaplain in the USAF. Emily’s experience on the mission field and working with Serge’s Renewal materials over the years has equipped her for these new roles. She enjoys coming alongside people who are discerning a call to creative access countries (countries where it is not possible to attain a religious worker visa). She also participates as a mentor, speaker and course facilitator for Serge’s Renewal Department. Serge is a value-based mission sending organization whose core values are Gospel-Centeredness, Love for People, Kingdom Prayer and Ministry from Weakness. As evidenced in the scope of Emily’s work, Serge’s ministry spans the globe, but also focuses on encouraging and equipping the church in America.

St. James Fellowship is a Christian Mission directed by Rev. John Patterson. He and a team of ministry associates serve in three assisted living facilities, one nursing home, and two independent living centers. Rev. John also visits people in their homes and apartments who are either disabled or aging. The work of the Fellowship involves proclaiming the Good News of Christ, teaching God’s Word, giving the sacrament of Holy Communion, and counseling the hurting. His work is that of a pastor, evangelist, and chaplain combined. This mission is committed to showing the love of Christ in word and deed to those who are aging, physically or mentally disabled, and to people who care for them.

The Blessing Board is a Christian-based, quality-focused furniture bank whose mission is to provide donated household furnishings to those in need at no cost in response to what God has done for us.  TBB’s vision is that through God’s grace every family experiencing hardship can receive the items they need. In addition to receiving free furniture, household goods, or home medical equipment, everyone who comes to The Blessing Board hears the good news of the Gospel and is exposed to the love and compassion of Christ through the volunteers serving them.

Since 2009 Andrew Churchill has served with Urban Impact as a missionary to youth and families on the North Side of Pittsburgh. Through a wide range of athletic, performing arts, and academic/career-based ministries, Urban Impact seeks to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission through investing in the spiritual, social, and academic growth of at-risk youth and their families, A long-time Hebron member, Andrew’s role in the ministry is centered around athletics and organizational development, and is three-fold in mission: (1) to prepare the way for Christ to transform lives through the planning and administration of Gospel-centered programs; (2) to proclaim Good News through Bible teaching and curriculum development; and (3) to equip the Saints, whether volunteers or students, to serve God and love their neighbors!

Urukundo Village and Learning Center is dedicated to the education and spiritual upbringing of Rwandan children, created and funded through Hope Made Real. Urukundo welcomes all who seek to help the children of Rwanda and create a better world not just for a child, but for us all. Pastor Yves is one who fulfills this role at Urukundo.

As the spiritual guide for the children in the home, the school, and the community, he is responsible for the worship service each Lord’s day morning. This includes the sermon, communion, teaching Christian fundamentals, baptisms and weddings. Each evening he has a devotion time with the children and live-in staff at Urukundo Village. He serves as chaplain for our outreach program that includes the vulnerable in the surrounding area. He is counselor in our mental health program working with families of troubled children. Speaking both English and Kinyarwanda, he is an asset to the worship center, the school, and the village proper.

Womens Choice is supported by Hebron Church and the Mission and Outreach Program.   Recently, WCN has changed their name to NETWORK OF LIFE and expanded their programs to reflect their goal.  The purpose of Network of Life is to empower those who are most vulnerable to abortion to choose life.  Network of Life is a faith based organization that values life by providing specialized medical care and support for those who seek their help.

Hebron Church is most familiar with Network of Life by praying for both the clients and the staff as well as participating in the baby bottle campaign, and for “gathers” of baby clothing. Hebron has also provided the Barclay Building for their annual Christmas party for clients and families.

Network of Life is a local mission which works to make Pittsburgh a sanctuary city for life.

Hebron Mission Committee would like to introduce you to one of our new missionary partners, Jonathan Grissom, who serves Young Life in the East Hills and joined Young Life over the summer. “We have landed in the East Hills and have been busy meeting people and kids and working on building a foundation for healthy long-term ministry. My wife Maria is enjoying the All-moms program at Hebron and Gracie (6 months) and Jude (2 years) are enjoying library trips and running and crawling around the house. At Penn Hills High School we have been meeting kids and working on adding to our volunteer leader team, so we can really meet the kids where they are. We had our first YL outreach night in October and had about 20 kids come and carve pumpkins, eat too much food and have a good time. We have already seen the grace of the LORD in our start here, finding a house, meeting great people and having open doors to meet high school kids. We’re excited and expectant about what the LORD will do through our efforts!”

YoungLives is a Christian mentoring program for pregnant and parenting teen girls. We welcome teen moms into a community of support, through fun monthly Club events (including dinner and babysitting), Bible studies, and an annual camp. We help girls to get connected with the physical support that they need, as well as offering encouragement, friendships with other teen moms, and unconditional love from a committed mentor. When teen moms are introduced to Jesus Christ, He gives them hope for their future and for the future of their children. Skylor Massie is the new area director. Skyler has 27 years of counseling teaching/mentoring youth and children in The East Hills/Penn Hills neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. You see how God will use her in her new role as director.
