Launch Growth Group

By Dan Bender

It is incredibly important to be connected in today’s world. If you have ever been new some place you know what it is like to not feel connected. You may have also felt unsure about how to actually get involved or connected in those situations. We will be forming a Launch Group soon, which will aim to help this process of helping you get plugged in and figure out how you can deepen your walk with Jesus at Hebron.

If you are brand new to Hebron and not already in a Growth Group, this is a great place to start. If you have been here for years but you need some space to figure out what a next step might be for you, this is also a great place to start. Because you see, there is a big difference between Launching something and releasing something like a balloon.

The best example I can give is when you start a new job and there is a “training period.” If we are honest, in most places this is likely a meeting or two, shadowing someone for a couple of days and then you are simply released to do the work. It has been my experience that I never feel quite ready to start actually doing the work that I was “trained” to do and the majority of it is learned on the job. Perhaps you have started a new job and you feel like you have received adequate training or onboarding. There is a huge difference in how you feel when you are launched as compared to when you are simply released. Use the picture above for reference.

It is our hope and goal to take you as you are and then launch you, not just release you into life at Hebron. Launch will be something that we do on a regular basis. The idea is that there are always new people coming. The key is to help people launch within the first 6 months of participating. There is a much greater chance that those folks will feel more connected and be more apt to take part in the broader life of the church. So, the countdown is starting. Are you ready to Launch?

Dan Bender will be the primary leader of Launch. Check in with him at the Connect Center, email danb@hebrononline.org or call the Church Office if you are interested. We will also be on the lookout and may ask you if you would like to participate.
