And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
We just celebrated Jesus’ birth. The Christ, the Anointed One, arrived. God showed up, declaring the “kingdom of heaven is at hand.” A spiritual kingdom, not the physical kingdom the Jews anticipated. A kingdom “not of this world,” “not from the world.” A kingdom entered by supernatural (spiritual) birth not natural birth. Open to all who repent and believe, conferring blessing to the humble, the “poor in spirit,” those who submit to His kingship with childlike trust. A kingdom for those who don’t deserve it but live by faith in God.
Faith in God. That’s where Hebron was in 2023 and finds itself as we enter 2024. Staff, officers, and volunteers collaborate to proclaim the gospel of His kingdom, encourage love for one another, and teach His commands. Suitable responses to God’s amazing grace and Christ’s commission, and all empowered by the Holy Spirit. And in 2023 we embarked on a 2-year plan to increase donations in support of Hebron’s ministries.
And guess what? God showed up! By now you’re all too familiar with the 2023 “ask.” A simple, but hopefully manageable, request for congregants to increase giving $25/mo. Many responded, some substantially, to the amount of $47,000. And we received over $13,000 in unbudgeted, anonymous donations that more than made up for some donations we expected which did not materialize.
We close 2023 grateful to God for stirring our hearts to respond so faithfully. Continue to support Hebron prayerfully and financially in 2024, the second year of our 2-year plan, during which we are asking you to increase giving another $25/mo.
