My, how time has flown! By the time you are reading this, we will be wrapping up the Fall 2023 semester of All Moms. We have had a wonderful season, with a total of 6 meetings starting in September and wrapping with an early December Christmas party.
We welcomed two new members to our team; Jess Cline was brought on as our Care Coordinator to facilitate service projects and prioritize prayer requests, and Christine Sidlo as another Mentor Mom for women to connect with.
This has been a record breaking semester for attendance with new members coming in and old members coming back to the tune of 36 women registered (and some moms just dropping in!). We covered topics relevant to motherhood with two guest speakers coming in, as well as our mentor moms giving talks. Our very own Ellen Dillard made an appearance as guest speaker on the topic of “Talking to Kids about God” and Michelle (Chirieleison) Krogh came in to speak to moms about “Preschool Expectations.”
For our service projects, we partnered with TryLife Pregnancy Center in Lower Burrell to bless them with new and gently used items that moms are able to “purchase” using a point system. Points are earned by attending classes relevant to motherhood. We filled a Pack ‘N Play (and then some) with donated items from All Moms for TryLife. For the 4th year in a row now, All Moms also participated in the Angel Tree Prison Ministry as a service project blessing 10 kids and parents. Our community building coordinator, Jessicah Lahitou, heads up this service project, as well as planned a moms’ night out at Brushes and Beans Cafe in Murrysville for a relaxing paint night.
Newly implemented this semester were All Moms Playdates held in the preschool rooms of the church on the first Wednesday of the month (which have been a huge hit with our moms!). We were able to once again host an “All Moms Pumpkin Patch” for the second year at Morning Glory Farms complete with hay rides, face paint, donkey encounters, refreshments and pumpkins! This event was free for moms and families to attend!
Last but certainly not least, Mentor Mom Kelly Knapp hosted three Coffee Chats in her home as a way for moms to further connect and to dig deeper into daily Gospel application.
If you have anyone in your life who is a mom of littles (pregnancy through kindergarten) send them our way! Thank you all for your continued support and prayers.
